The Wavetrend Patch antenna has a zero dBi gain and operates at 433 MHz. It has been designed for optimal RF receiving performance with the Wavetrend reader range. The L-N300 patch antenna is typically used for its unique directional properties. Its reception field is of a hemispheric nature with a larger than 15 dB front to back ratio. The L-AN300 can be mounted on a flat surface at a remote location from the reader with minimal cable loses providing that high quality cable is used. The antenna is housed in a plastic mould that is UV resistant and can be used outdoors. Applications of this antenna are best suited to applications where a directional RF reception field is required, i.e. Access control systems, Vehicle yard management, Parking control systems, Container monitoring, etc.

The Alpro Hardware Division of IEC Limited has announced the release of the new Alpro PB86 proximity switch. Designed to be used in conjunction with the full range of Alpro electric strikes, electric bolts and general access control products out in the field, this proximity switch offers contactless features offering sterile and hygienic operation. The switch has a proximity distance adjustable from 5-20cms, along with an adjustable relay trigger from 1 to 9 seconds. The switch has easy indication of operation status and can be operated remotely by a small keypad. The switch is suitable for indoor use only. A simple swipe of the hand operates the switch, ensuring no contact is required. A feature especially important with the onset of MRSA and other infectious bacteria currently prevalent in hospitals and other communal areas. Its high speed matching algorithm provides maximum usability and its access control intelligence gives you the option to install the reader to control a single door or alternatively you can connect and integrate DIGIgarde PLUS into an access control system to provide real-time event monitoring and central system programming and control. DIGIgarde PLUS has a high resolution optical scanner, which provides reliable reading of fingers of all sizes. The IP65 rating means that the robust reader can be mounted internally or externally. The Time and Attendance functionality allows users to clock in and out using a single reader, which increases efficiency and ease of use. The built in MIFARE smart card reader allows the user’s template to be stored either on the card or in the reader, whilst the full white-on-black dot matrix LCD enhances feedback to the user and offers an intuitive local programming interface.
