The Alpro Hardware Division of IEC Limited has announced the release of the new Alpro EB501 mini solenoid bolt. This innovative product allows for both remote access and exit control of most timber, metal and UPVC doors. It is also suitable for sliding or swing, single or double action operations. It can be fitted in the frame or in the door and comes complete with plug in LED bolt indicator as standard. It is also suitable for narrow profile joinery cabinets, lockers and showcases. Construction of the bolt is from stainless steel, complete with a 12mm diameter bolt affecting a 12mm throw. A strike plate completes the secure locking function. The EB501 is further enhanced by a stainless steel dress plate to cover the brushed aluminium faceplate. The bolt has a continuously rated solenoid, fully protected against transients and reverse polarity.  Monitoring is by door position switch and bolt position indicator. The auto relock function can be set for 0, 3, 6 or 9 seconds. The bolt carries the requisite CE approval. PCSC ES125 electric lock allows the door to be opened without retracting the latchbolt. This occurs by the release of the electric strike lip (sometimes called a keeper or gate). When the door closes the beveled latchbolt rides over the lip and falls into the strike pocket. A door can be set either as Fail Safe (loss of electrical power opens the door) or Fail Secure (loss of electrical power locks the door).

Having less features than the TB25 this dropbolt was designed for the cost conscious and is available in the Power to Lock configuration only.  There are no onboard electronics and unlock and relock times must be controlled by the access control system.  The standard bolt (TB32-38) is supplied with a 38 mm wide faceplate however a 32mm faceplate is available as an option (TB32).
