The new key card offers a maximum range of up to 50m. The new triple-function Net2Air keycard operates as a normal  hands free token on doors equipped with a hands free interface and, by operating the keycard buttons, as a long range access card.

The miPASS KeyFob has an imbedded chip which is available in 1Kbytes of EEPROM.  The keytag has a write endurance of 100,000 cycles.  The KeyTag can support mulitple applications on the chip, each with its own dedicated keys and memory area.  The miPASS KeyFob is a practical substiute for the smart card as it allows you to use the Mifare technology without having to carry a card.

Paxton Access has launched a new keycard for use with its hands free access control solution.  The new keycard offers a maximum range of up to 50m. The Insight Intelligent 4 Door Access module provides an interface for up to 4 Doors using 4 card readers or, if used in conjunction with the Intelligent Access module Reader Expander board up to 4 Door with Card In / Card Out operation using 8 card readers. Access control functions continue in the event of LAN failure or damage to the control module. Events are recorded to review within the modeule whilst offline. CEM CRD/218/004 DESFire 13.56MHz read/write contactless smart card can be used for a range of different applications from access control to other applications such as cashless vending and public transportation. The miPass contactless smart card communicates using wireless technology with the reader.  The phase signal and the energy to power the card are transmitted via a high frequency signal from the reader to the card.  Data is then transmitted bi-directionally by this signal providing a fast and very efficient data exchange.  Quick transaction time, simple usage and robustness are the outstanding features of this card.  The card can transmit data over a distance of up to 10cm.
