CEM DIU 220 (Power over Ethernet access control)CEM Systems, a leading access control brand of Tyco International, announced recently that it will showcase its latest IP access control innovations at IIPSEC, UK (Stand 017) during 29th-31st January.

On display for the first time in the UK will be a range of industry firsts including the new CEM S610e multi-technology IP card reader and the revolutionary DIU 220 (Power over Ethernet Door Interface Unit).

"As the UK's International IP security exhibition, IIPSEC offers CEM the ideal platform to launch its industry leading IP access control innovations," commented Philip Verner, Sales & Marketing Manager of Tyco International's CEM products.  "With a culture for consistently leading the industry, CEM will display the new S610 multi-technology IP card reader and the DIU 220 (Door Interface Unit) which has positioned CEM to be the first to reliably offer power over Ethernet access control to the industry" added Verner.

The S610 multi-technology card reader marks a new hardware platform in the industry's most advanced CEM S600 family of card readers.  CEM S610 Multi-technology readerAvailable in both S610s for on-board serial connectivity and S610e for on-board IP connectivity, the reader features a ‘new look' enclosure that is in fitting with the architectural designs of modern office buildings.  The reader has the ability to support a range of card technologies including 125 KHz Proximity, 13.56 MHz MiFare and PicoPass technology and is also available as a multi-technology option to enable customers to easily migrate from traditional Proximity to MiFare smart card technology.

Another industry first on display is the revolutionary CEM DIU 220 (Power over Ethernet Door Interface Unit) that offers 1.6 Amps to reliably power a complete door set (consisting of a controller, two 650mA Maglocks, door holder, sounder and strobe) using one CAT5/6 Ethernet cable.  Eliminating the need for mains power at the door the DIU 220 can be installed by IT network/security installers without an electrician, offering clients the benefit of a complete IP solution at a low cost.

Don't miss CEM Director of Engineering, Dr George Redpath will be conducting a technical seminar entitled "Integrated IP based Access Control" on Wednesday 30th January at the IIPSEC Networked Integrated Solutions seminar.  With Ethernet solutions becoming more mainstream the ability to offer clients a fully integrated, leading edge IP security management solution has become more important.  Dr Redpath will discuss industry IP solutions and how the next generation of IP devices are beginning to unlock the true capability of an IP network.

Dr George Redpath, Director of EngineeringDr George Redpath will also be speaking about "Evolution of IP Access Control in Aviation" on Tuesday 29th January.  With 20 years' experience in Aviation Access Control, CEM are uniquely positioned to comment on industry developments. Using a practical case-study Dr Redpath will discuss how lessons learnt from previous installations such as Hong Kong International Airport have been applied - the IP solutions offered and how the client was supplied with a highly resilient security management system to fit their environment.  See how CEM has worked in partnership with airports and how lessons learnt from this installation will be applied in the future.

With over 20 years' experience in the IT & security industry, CEM is unique in that it has developed a strong understanding of the IT strategies that companies have in place and IIPSEC will allow CEM to display its innovative range of IP access control solutions that have been built with this understanding in mind.
