WSC provides opportunities for networking and relationship-building that can propel women to greater heights
Women's Security Council will award women who have made it in the field of physical security

The Women's Security Council, a network of successful security professionals focused on promoting the advancement of women in the industry, this week unveiled its Women of the Year awards programme. The inaugural initiative aims to recognise the top female professionals in the physical security industry in a variety of categories.

The WSC Women of the Year Award recipients will be honoured during ISC West 2012 in Las Vegas. The award winners will be formally announced at WSC's 2012 Awards Reception, profiled in the special April 2012 eWSC awards newsletter and announced in an official WSC press release to be distributed at ISC West 2012.

Nominees will be judged based upon the leadership they have exhibited in the security industry and at their companies, and the ways they have given back to the women's business community by mentoring or supporting other women in the security market. The WSC Founding Committee and select WSC members will spearhead the review process. Nominations will close at midnight on January 6, 2012, and winners will be notified in February 2012.

"WSC provides opportunities for networking and relationship-building that can propel women to greater heights in their careers," said Rhianna Daniels, Managing Director, CompassPR, and a WSC Founding Committee member. "The WSC Women of the Year awards programme spotlights the outstanding women in the security industry who are demonstrated leaders in the field and those who are emerging as the future of the industry."
