Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs required a unique security solution

Ministry of Foreign Affair of Turkey

Ministry of Foreign Affair of Turkey is the central government institution located in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey and also the second largest city after Istanbul. Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in charge of leading the foreign affairs of Turkey as it maintains the consular affairs and foreign relations with international community. Over 3,000 staffs and visitors and 1,000 vehicles coming in and out of the ministry building daily, it generates over 20,000 transactions per day.

Project Requirement

Due to its distinctive characteristic of the foreign affairs ministry building, it required one of kind security solution. Not only it called for an access control system that has large capacity to facilitate a large number of users, it also required top of the line security feature to protect its people and assets affiliated with important international matters. In conclusion, they are in need for an ensured security solution to increase the protection level provided to the building and prevent any possible misfortunate events beforehand.

The Solution

Optimum Guvenlik, IDTECK's executive distributor of Turkey, has provided an exclusive security solution to fulfil the needs of the ministry building. To secure all the entrance and exit points, 340 units of RF10, 125KHz Proximity Card Reader, have been installed on all the doors including the crypto rooms. For areas where higher security level is required, RFK101, combination of PIN and Proximity Card Readers has been deployed to tightly regulate unauthorized users and visitors from entering the area. Total of 40 units of RFK101 has been installed in the building.

As for the twelve ministry department entry points, which are limited for official personnel and VIPs only, the Fingerprint Recognition Proximity Reader, FINGER006 provided highest level of security as the device identifies fingerprint biometric information as well as PIN and Proximity Card. All of the readers are paired up with 100 units of iTDC, the Intelligent Multi Door Access Control Panel, to offer stable management of the system. In addition, iTDC PRO II, access control software was installed to monitoring all the access events. Outside of the ministry building, RF245, the long range proximity reader, was used for vehicle control all the vehicles coming in and out of the area.

After the Successful Implementation
