With a new academic year starting, the demand for ID cards in the UK is set to reach its highest point, says leading distributor ADI-GARDINER, who supplies the Magicard range of secure ID card printers and accessories from Ultra Electronics - one of the world's leading manufacturers since 1993.

Magicard printers are used in a wide variety of portrait ID and Access Control applications, and incorporate innovative HoloKote anti-counterfeiting technology, which prints a transparent watermark across the card surface for security and is an important product differentiator for the range.

For high volume applications such as universities and colleges, the Magicard Rio2e has proved particularly suitable.  This is a single side colour printer built to withstand the hard work of high throughput jobs, but is also ideal for low-duty cycle applications.  The Magicard Rio2e can download and print a colour image (YMCKO) in less than 20 seconds using USB, parallel ports or Ethernet connections.

Also stocked by ADI-GARDINER is the Magicard Tango2e Flip, a double side printer which downloads a colour double sided image in around 25 seconds.  The Tango2e has a whisper quiet operation and offers easy drop in dye film loading.

Both the Rio and Tango printers are equipped with Magicard's anti-forgery system, which involves a daylight visible security logo being printed across the whole card face. With zero consumable costs, custom security logos are applied to the card when the encrypted HoloKote key is attached to the printer.  This key can now also be programmed to lock out the printer if requested.

ADI-GARDINER supplies Magicard printers and accessories - including printer ribbons, card holders, lanyards, necklaces and yoyos, in conjunction with Payne Security - Magicard's worldwide dealer of the year for two years running.
