1000 cards created by ScreenCheck Europe BV using Zebra Card Printers

The Haarlemse Baseball Tournament attracts national television coverage and crowds of up to 20,000 people at each match.  The tournament features teams from China, Cuba, Japan, Chinese Taipei, the USA and the Netherlands.  Providing security at these events is a high priority.  The tournament organisers looked to Zebra Card Printer Solutions and ScreenCheck Europe BV to provide photo id security cards that were printed onsite.  More than 1,000 photo ID security cards for the players and organisers were created.  The identity cards were produced using Zebra's P120i, the colour dual-sided card printer, and ScreenCheck Europe BV's BadgeMaker 5500 identity card personalization software.  Zebra's desktop ID card printers are small enough to be used wherever events are taking place.

"Ensuring security and controlling access to a major event such as The Haarlemse Baseball Week required security ID cards that featured the person's photo.  With each card needing to be unique, using a Zebra card printer and ScreenCheck Europe BV resources, made this huge task an easy one to accomplish," said Mark Thomson, international marketing manager for Zebra Card Printer Solutions.

Dave Outshoven, of ScreenCheck Europe BV, said: "We are delighted, not only to be sponsoring this international event, but also to be providing a valuable service in the form of security support for the teams and organisers.  We enjoyed the fantastic display of top-level baseball."

Haarlemse Baseball Week ran from July 21 to July 30 2006 with the final being broadcast live on Dutch television.  The event, which is held every two years, has been running since 1961 and the current champions are the Netherlands.
