Access control system from Paxton keeps track of staff at Riviera Maritime Media
The system was to complement the stylish, modern design of the new offices

Established in 2001, Riviera Maritime Media (RMM) is a rapidly growing media company. They grew from an initial partnership, formed in 1997 to buy and publish the "Speed at Sea" journal. RMM is now a global company supplying up-to-the-minute maritime data to the commercial shipping world.

RMM's Managing Director, Steve Labdon, knew he wanted to have an access control system fitted as part of their new office refurbishment. Keeping track of staff was a main consideration for the new access control system. Another requirement was for the system to complement the stylish, modern design of the new offices.

Simon Gale, from Cohort Security Solutions, used a demonstration case to show Steve how straightforward Net2, from Paxton, would be for his company to use. He also outlined the simple Time and Attendance feature in Net2, and how it could help with managing staff hours. Finally, he explained that Paxton offered a designer product range that would work well with the sleek new office design.

Steve chose Paxton PROXIMITY marine readers for the reception area of the office. These are used for staff to clock in and clock out of the office. As Net2 had also been recommended by another contact of Steve's, this is the option he decided to run with. RMM now have 11 doors controlled on site and 40 staff on the Net2 system.

Steve says: "The aesthetics of the Marine reader were the main draw, I really liked it. The Net2 access control system works extremely well for us. I would have no hesitation recommending Net2 to any business concerned about security."
